WhatsApp Business Video

Challenge
Creating a WhatsApp video in Chinese was challenging due to the language barrier, requiring effective collaboration with the Chinese team to overcome communication and understanding obstacles.
Solution
To overcome this challenge, I collaborated closely with the Chinese team, using strong organization, clear communication, structured workflows, detailed briefs, regular check-ins, and translation tools.
Results
Through collaboration and project management, we completed the Chinese WhatsApp video, adapting it into English, Dutch, and French by working with the US and French Product Marketers and a Dutch Copywriter, fostering teamwork and supporting future multilingual projects.

Storyboard – first draft
I began brainstorming by creating a dashboard to share with the Marketing Manager in China, providing an overview of the video. To expedite the process, I utilized Midjourney to generate the initial draft quickly. Since I don’t speak Chinese, I included the text under each slide, along with both Chinese voiceover and English translations, ensuring clear communication and understanding for myself.

Storyboard – second draft
Once we agreed on the generic story, I began adding screenshots of the video step by step to collaborate effectively with the Chinese marketing manager. For each completed frame, I sent it for feedback, ensuring that we stayed aligned and made any necessary adjustments based on their insights. This iterative process allowed us to refine the video while incorporating valuable input from the local team.
